Update to our cruise....July 2nd

We ended up staying in St. Augustine until Tuesday June 21st. We got to visit the fort in town and explored a little more when Laurie's parents came through town on their way to North Carolina.

We also got to check out the St. Augustine distillery after a great lunch and trolley tour.

We toured the old Flagler hotel which is not Flagler college.

We stayed a little longer because our friend Jeff built a table for our galley and he brought it up from Ft. Lauderdale. We ended up working for 3 days on the table and then on the last day, the table stand broke.  So, that delayed us getting the table installed.  Bummer, because we worked so hard on trying to make the table stay work.

Got to walk and ride our bikes quite a bit through St. Augustine.  I can understand why it was a popular town for trying to conquer.  The Spaniards and French must have fought over the sunsets.  Hah!

We left St. Augustine and headed north on the 21st.  It was a 3.5 hour trip up to Jax Beach, Windward Beach Marina where we stopped for 2 nights.  I rode my bike up to Publix for some groceries and we     took the dinghy out cruising the river.

We left Jax beach and headed for Fernandina Beach. We passed by some beautiful scenery.  The day we were cruising to Fernandina was the hottest day in FL so far this year.  It was 106 degrees and our generator quit on us.  The dogs were pretty hot but we made it to Fernandina Beach and got the AC cranked up pretty quick.

 Fernandina Beach Oasis Marina

We really enjoyed Fernandina Beach.  We got to shop, eat some great food, play mini golf at Gregor McGregor's, got my bike repaired and had some great times.  My mom came to visit last Saturday.  We had our dog walker back on the boat. :)  Greg and Priscilla came to visit that Sat as well.  We took some engagement photos for them. The Sunsets have been amazing each night.  There are a lot of people that come down to the dock and watch the sunset.  Everyone in the town is so friendly.  We had to go home on Thursday for a meeting in Plant City but we are coming back to the boat on Sunday.  We are leaving next Thursday for Cumberland Island and then Jeckyl Island.
